I plan on being in Early and Miller County to research my McCullers roots in December. I still have not had any luck on locating this church. I am putting it out on the list again just in case some newcomers might recognize it. I tried contacting local Baptist churches with no luck. Lisa Vol 1, p 182 is an article called "Open Pond-Midway Church" by Miss Dot Harvey. She states that the pastor was Reverend Jordan B. McCullers who served probably before and after the Civil War. Also, on p 231, it shows that J.B. McCullers, Co. D. 32 GA. Inf.-C.S.A., is buried in Open Pond Cemetery located 2-1/2 miles NE of Jakin, GA.
