Searching for information on the family of my grandmother's first husband, Samuel Gurr. Samuel GURR married Lillian MERRITT on 17 Dec 1899 in Early County. I also found the following Early County marriage information on Ancestry: Jim Gurr and Lizzie Maultan 18 Nov 1897 J.O. Nelms and M.E. Gurr 6 Mar 1887 James P. Duncan and Ellen E. Merritt 4 Oct 1898 Robert A. Merritt and Mary E. Minter 14 Nov 1877 Garrison Merritt and Rebecca Collins 27 Jan 1853 John Goodman and Mary Ann Merritt 12 Sept 1852 Ellen E. Merritt was Lillian's sister, and Robert A. Merritt was her uncle. I don't know if the Garrison and Mary Ann Merritts are related to mine.
