    3. Quote"F. Marion Platt was affiliated with the old Magnolia Lodge in Early County January 7, 1882, coming from Simon Holt Lodge #218. He was a son of, Jonathan Platt and Civilita M. Lewis and was born in Early County, Ga. on June 3, 1835. Mr. Platt married 3 times, first, Miss Palmelia?sp-- Sheffield; second to Miss Caledonia Sheffield, a daughter of William Sheffield and lastly, to Miss Fredonia Singleton and was the father of Mrs. Sam Stein, Mrs Harry Stein, Mrs. W.J. Stevenson, Mrs. I Friedman, Rev Frank Platt, B.A. Platt, Hoyt Platt and Sherry L. Platt. He was in the mercantile business in Blakely and also kept the Platt Hotel, located on the site now occupied by the stores of J. B. Murdock, Fryer's Pharmacy and Ed Chancy. Mr. Platt was a SGT. of Company I, 29th Georgia Battalion, during the Civil War and was discharged in 1865 and died in Texas in 1901. Jonathan Platt joined Magnolia # 86 in 1860. He lived near Damascus, and the place is still known to the older inhabitants as Plattsville. Mr. Platt was born Sept. 10, 1809. He married Miss Civilita M. Lewis and was the father of F. Marion Platt, William Platt and Mrs Lucy Mock.......
