Houston Dies After Several Weeks' Illness LeRoy C. Houston, 70-year-old Early County farmer and citizen, who resided on Route 3, died at the Houston-Rentz Clinic, Colquitt, Friday night at 10:15 o'clock. Mr. Houston, who was a native and lifelong resident of this county, succumbed to a ten-week illness. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bob Houston and was born July 14, 1881. He had many friends throughout this section who learned with regret of his passing. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the New Hope Baptist Church, of which he was a member, with the Revs. E.M. Palmer, __, __, Edmonds, and Pope Hulett officiating. Interment was in the George Cemetery, with Minter Funeral Home in charge and Ralph Hubert Houston, Jr., Robert Houston, Herman Houston, Homer C. Houston, Sr., Bill Houston and George Mock serving as pallbearers. Surviving Mr. Houston are his wife, Mrs. Josephine Houston; two sons, Ralph Houston, of Albany, and Griffin Houston, of Blakely: a daughter, Miss Lulleen Houston, of Blakely; two brothers, Homer C. Houston, of Blakely, and Bob Houston, of Opelika: and a sister, Mrs. L.A. McLendon, of Palatka, Fla.
