She was a descendant of two well known Early County families. Her father was LeRoy Cuthbert Houston and mother, Mrs. Josephine Mock Houston, and she was born Oct. 1, 1904. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. Before retirement, she was manager of the Blakely Save-Way Stores. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon in the New Hope Church with the pastor, Rev. Eugene Bess, officiating. Interment was in the George Cemetery with Bill, Herman, Ralph Jr., Wally and Donald Houston and Hoyt Middleton serving as pallbearers. Survivors are two brothers, Griffin Houston, Blakely, and Ralph Houston, Albany; 4 nephews and one niece. Manry-Jordan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
