Thank you for forwarding the information. The Sumter county info caught my eye with the listing of William Tiner mentioned. My William Tiner b. abt 1825 is only found on one document so far, that being a delayed deed where his children, Lewis, William Wright, John, and Benjamin are selling the property to sister Ida Tiner Kelley in 1899. William purchased the land 12/27/1848 in Baker Co from Neil Mclegan. He doesn't show on census records and neither do the children before 1870. My William was born about 1825 in either TN or GA (kids stated both to census takers) with the first son being born 1843. Another researcher searched county by county looking for them before 1870 but couldn't find them. Hopefully the William in Sumter is my William. Thanks for the clue. Two other Tiner's were found in Early County as possible relatives, John and James. John went to Florida and I have ruled him out as a father to William. Can't find anything on James so far other than he married Mary Fannel and don't know if the two are related. And then there's a possible brother for William: 1850 Early Co GA Tax Digest Simson Tiner 1 poll/250 acres #163 5th dist/250 acres #158 All clues appreciated.
