    2. I don't have the documentation, but I believe Greenberry is an Indian name. It seemed to have originated in the Carolinas since I have more than a few occurrences of that first name from both North and South Carolina( for Cooks ) and at least two of them were Indian( this was given as to the reason that their name was Greenberry ).

    3. Rosa Lee, Thanks for your note! Every time I visit a Confederate Cemetery I look for boys from the "Early Guards" ( Co G, 13th GA). I guess as a remembrance to John Askew WEBB, my GGF William J. WEBB's older brother. John was seriously wounded at Gettysburg and died there as a POW on July 27 1863. I suspect he is also one of the Unknowns. The real tragedy is that the greater portion of our Confederate Ancestors that died in the War rest as Unknowns. Their families never knowing what happened to them unless a friend witnessed the event and lived to tell his loved ones. >> Does anyone know how the name Greenberry came to be? << I do not, although I have noticed that it occurs rather often in the GA line of GREERs. >> Do you have any idea how Henry Sapp might be related to your Harmon D. Sapp? << At this point in my research I don't have anything that would indicate that Harmon D. and Henry might be related. My 2GGF Harmon D. SAPP b: 3 Mar 1835 to Delaney SAPP and Mary CHASTAIN. Possibility in Decatur Co, GA. His father died ca 1840 and his mother remarried. Harmon D. was apparently reared by a bachelor Uncle John G. SAPP in Baker and later Mitchell Co, GA. He married Martha Antoinette DAVIS in 1860 and after returning from the War. He and Martha reared seven children in Pelham, Mitchell Co, GA. If I get down to Wilmington again I'll look for your Greenberry Pyle. I'm sure there must be a sizable Confederate Cemetery there. Good Hunting, Ed Edward P. 2. Edward, Thank you for the information on the grave sites of the two CSA Soldiers. I had two Great Grandfathers die in the Civil war. One was James Glass or James T. Glass. He died either in Virginia or Sweetwater, Tenn of pneumonia. The other one is Greenberry Pyle. (Pyles, Pile, Piles) He died in Wilmington, N. C. He was in the hospital there. This information came from the Widow's Pension Files. Would be great to find these graves marked. Does anyone know how the name Greenberry came to be? I also have a Great-Grandfather, a CSA Vet buried at Bethel PB Church in Brooks County, Ga. His name is Henry Sapp. I have his picture. Do you have any idea how Henry Sapp might be related to your Harmon D. Sapp? Rosa Lee Glass Hillsborough Co., Fl.

    3. Would like to exchange information with any descendants of Alexander Kenady and wife Helen or Hollon who lived in Early County between the years of 1832 and 1844. In 1845 Alexander moved his family to Gadsden Co., FL. I have been unable to find a marriage license for these two so do not know Helen/Hollon's maiden name. If anyone knows anything about this family, I would be forever grateful. Ida

    3. An interesting article from the Cuthbert Appeal 23 July 1880 "Mr. S. J. Williams of this city, informs us that a shocking accident occurred near his farm in Early County on last Saturday, which resulted in the almost instant death of Mrs. W. B. Bryan, of Arlington, and the serious injury to Mrs. Gremmer, of Bainbridge--nee Miss Amelia Jones--a sister of Mrs. Bryan. Mrs. Bryan and sister had been on a visit to their father, Judge J. B. Jones, of Blakely, and were returning to Arlington in a double-seated buggy, and when near "Sugar Tit" a sudden jerk of the horse that was hitched to the vehicle, precipitated the ladies upon a hard rocky place in the road, which resulted as stated above." Can anyone on this list tell me the given name of Mrs. Bryan? Also was Mrs Gremmer's name Amelia Jones as in the article or Adelia Jones? I am not a direct descent of this line, but am a descendant of John Thomas Briant Jones who was a brother to Judge J B Jones' father Josiah Jones. Thanks. Lindy
