    1. Re: [GAEARLY-L] MOCK family of Early County, GA
    2. James, Sorry it has taken so long to reply, but time has been tight lately. The Mock's did not live in Early County, but in Miller County. That is probably why you could not find them. They were close to the Early County line, but officially in Miller. I am descended from G.F. and M.A. My g grandfather Wright Robert was born after they came back to Ga. The weekend of June 9, we will all be (my family, cousins, etc.) will be in Blakely. We are going to try to do some cemetery repair work. The majority of us will be camping in the Kolomoki State Park, just North of Blakely. I don't know where you live, but if you would like to join us that weekend, we would love to have you. We can show you where things are. The old family homesteads are gone, but we could show you where they were and where the graves are. It really would be better to give you a hard copy of the family tree as there are so many to list. G.F. had 20 children between the 2 wives. By the way, do you know what happened to his first wife (Sarah was her name)? If, for some reason, you cannot be with us in June I will send you the information by snail mail. E-mail your address and al to Erinhaus@aol.com. We are all excited to know of a half cousin and look forward to hearing from you. Carol Mock McKinney Erinhaus@aol.com

    2. The Susie Mock who married James Arthur Cannon was my grandfather's sister. Uncle Arthur and Aunt Susie have a number of relatives still in Blakely. At least 2 of them are daughters. Off the top of my head, I don't have their addresses and phone numbers. If you will give me yours, I will find them and let them contact you. They are very nice ladies. 2. Does anyone know if there is a Cemetery Index for Early County? Back in 1998, I E-mailed with a Henry Herndon and I think he was doing a project for Early Co! Does the VolIII of Early Co have that info in it? Thanks Berrien Chambers, my gg-grandfather's brother is buried in Early county with many relatives in Cedar Springs Cemtery there. http://www.geocities.com/heartland/village/9340 ____________________________________________________________________ For the largest MP3 index on the Web, go to http://mp3.altavista.com ____________________________________________________________________

    3. There is a Days Inn on Hwy 27 just on the outer limits of Blakely going East. There is a Ramada Inn close to a family restaurant in Donalsonville, Ga. on Hwy 84 and a very nice Tara Inn on the square in Colquitt, Ga. (more expensive than the rest) but very historic and nice.........There is a Helen's Restaurant in Colquitt which is a family owned place........Mrs. Brown's Busy Bee is not a fancy place just out of Blakely on the Damascus Rd. is a popular place to eat lunch..........Joan Herndon

    3. Last year, I stayed at the Days Inn and enjoyed it. It's on the highway and convenient to the library, courthouse, and cemetary. Be prepared to drive a long way for meals or else eat fast foods. ----- Original Message ----- From: <PatsFamilyTree@aol.com> To: <GAEARLY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, March 03, 2000 6:22 PM Subject: [GAEARLY-L] Hotels > Hi Everyone, > > I'm coming down to Georgia to do some research for a couple of days and was > wondering if anyone could recommend a hotel/motel or B&B to stay at. Does anyone know where this courthouse was located? I assume it was just a militia district courthouse for small claims. E W Sanders was my grandfather & C R Sanders his brother. They were two of the children of James Richard Madison Sanders who was in Early Co Ga as a child as early as 1838. Lindy

    1. [GAEARLY-L] Southern Temple's research
    2. Robert Temples
    3. Joyce Temple Barnet, author of "Temple People" and my wife and I are trying to document the descendants of the Prince George County Virginia Temple's. Our research suspects that after the Revolutionary War many of these families migrated to TN, NC, SC, GA, & KY. We have a Frederick Temple c. 1720 with three sons, Frederick, James, and John in Anson Co., NC prior to the war. We are now focusing on the Virginia and north Carolina lines from 1690-1800 to find founders of these lines. Of particular interest are Jesse, John, Jones, Jacob, Frederick, and James that move to Georgia from 1780-1810. The multiple combinations of these names in all families over several generations has made separating them difficult, not to mention a war or two destroying court houses! Your help is needed. Robert Temples
