Dear Joan, I am intyerested in the Avirett's namely William Nathaniel, Abner A. & Ephaly who lived in Early County back in the 1840's and fifties. This family raised their families there. However, the families are scattered from Florida to California, Wyoming, Texas and others. I am sure that this family would like to be included in any volume that is planned for the future. I have only been on the internet since January but have been doing genealogical research in soouthwest Georgia and "The Territory of Florida" for many years. In fact I met several cousins already through some of the lists that I subscribe to. Isn't family history exciting??????????I love a good mystery and this is sure the best I've ever read. Looking forward to contributing, Ann Avirett Cooper Route 3 Box 238 Macclenny, Florida 32063-9718 annstrees@nefcom.net ---------- > From: Joan Herndon <hherndon@alltel.net> > To: GAEARLY-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: Re: [GAEARLY-L] Earl County Cemetery Index > Date: Saturday, March 04, 2000 3:10 PM > > How many out there would like to contribute to the next volume of > Collections for Early County, Ga History?????give names, locations, snail > mail address and any other info you so desire........Joan Herndon, > Corresponding Secretary for the year 2000. >

Joan: I have information on the McMullens, Williams and Stephens line that I could add in this Volume.
Earl, I have a copy of the tomb index and also any names and dates of folks in the cemeteries around Cedar springs.........just answering your question. Joan Herndon
Carol, could you email your line to the GaEARLY-List? Some Mocks would enjoy seeing some progress made on the Mock line........Maybe yours would be the first.....There are numerous Mocks still in Early County........If anyone running the Mock lines would come online and let others know your kinfolks, it would encourage those that are far behind and stuck somewhere on their lines........Thanks, Joan Herndon
Volume III is still being proofed and indexed and some of it is still being transferred from one form that the original format was on to: Pagemaker..........This takes time and alot of volunteer work. We ask you to please be more patient so that when it does make it to the publisher, it will be more correct..........It has NOT gone to the publisher as yet.......NO price has been set, but we know it will be expensive........we have all wanted this book to be published by now, but it has just been a long tedious process......WE WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN IT IS READY TO SELL>>>>>>>>>Joan Herndon, corr. sec. for the Early County Historical Society.......
Joan I am sure my sisters would join in adding our family history to the next book as well as e-mail addresses etc. Sincerely, Kathryn
Joan tell them the name and address of the restaurant in downtown Blakely just off the square. They have a lunch buffet that is not large, but the food is good and not expensive. Dot in FL
Joan: Have you heard anything new about when Vol. III will be back from the printers and the cost? Will the new one you refer to be Vol IV? Will get my info together and send to you. Ida
I have some things to contribute, my grandmother Eunice HOWELL, daughter of Seabie THOMPSON and William Hiram HOWELL of Blakely, saved everything, I have some great old family stories and some newspaper clippings and then there is the John and Sarah "Sally" (BLUE) DAVIS family stuff that several of us can contribute to. Let's get geared up for Volume 4 instead of harassing the printers for a Vol. 3 before it is perfect!!! Dot in FL
I would love to contribute to the next Volume(IV). Earl S. Chambers 3313 Young Forest Drive Augusta, Ga 30906 I am currently stationed at Ft Lee, Va till retirement in Jul 2000. How can I order a copy of Volume III? http://www.geocities.com/heartland/village/9340 ____________________________________________________________________ For the largest MP3 index on the Web, go to http://mp3.altavista.com ____________________________________________________________________
I always recommend the Early County Library as your research center for this area...Other libraries in more distant regions carry good thorough material, but for Early County always use the Lucy Maddox Library on Columbia Street-Blakely, Ga. 31723---------When you are in the library, ask to use the Georgia Room....... To order Volumes I and II contact nitaday@alltel.net Her husband John will mail your volumes to you.......The cost is 10.00 for Volume I and 18.00 for Volume II and send 6 dollars postage.......Make all checks to the Early County Historical Society,,,,,,Thank You, Joan Herndon
How many out there would like to contribute to the next volume of Collections for Early County, Ga History?????give names, locations, snail mail address and any other info you so desire........Joan Herndon, Corresponding Secretary for the year 2000.
