This is an update to let everyone know that my cookbook is coming along nicely. I've received many delicious recipes, some genealogy, history, stories, a few photos, etc. from many wonderful people. Thanks to all of you, I think this will be a really nice book. It will be more than a "recipe" book, which was my aim. Of course, I've added my own personal touches that I hope will be of interest to everyone. The book will have at least 200 recipes. I don't know exactly how many pages at this point in time, but a rough guess would be 200 pages or more. I am still accepting recipes and whatever anyone would care to contribute to my book. You may email or snail mail them to me. I am hoping to get it together and send it to the publisher within the next few weeks. The publisher will typeset it, send it back to me for proofreading and I'll send it back to them to be printed. All of this could take 4-6 months. I am now accepting payment for my cookbook. For those who have already reserved books, please send payment to me at the address listed below. For those who have patiently been waiting for me to begin taking orders, you may send payment along with your orders to the address listed below, also. Check or money order, please. NO CASH. The cost per book is $ 9.95 plus $ 3.80 for postage making a total of $ 13.75. Please do NOT reply to the list. Reply to me PRIVAYELY at DLizgerlits@aol.com. Thank you and Happy Easter! Hi Again, I think I need to move to Early County....it's hard doing research from NY!! I was wondering if anyone has a marriage index for Early County for the very early 1900's - somewhere around 1905 or 1906. I'm trying to find the marriage date of Charles McCoy to a woman named Sally/Sallie. Not sure what her last name would be. Thanks again! Patricia Parker I'm researching the following surnames: Layton, Strickland, McCormick, McCoy, Parker, Tharp, Birch. Concentration is in the South - North Carolina, Georgia, Florida.
Posted on: Early County Bible Records Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ga/EarlyBibl?read=1 Surname: Regan, Hays ------------------------- I am trying to locate the burial place for Sarah (Sally) Hays Regan, (ca. 1831-AFT. 1900?), wife of Isaac Brown Regan. I have been told that Isaac is buried at Cedar Springs, GA. I know this couple married in Early County and that Sarah remarried(before 1880) after Isaac's death to a Tom Nix. I think she may be buried beside Tom somewhere in Early or Miller Co. GA. Any help would be most appreciated. Also would anyone know where Flat Creek Cemetery is located. Is it in either Early or Miller Co?
Hi Everyone, Does anyone know how I'd find a copy of a land record for property that was owned? According to the 1900 Early Cty census, my Charles McCoy owned a farm. I call the Court but they don't do lookups. Does anyone on this list do this type of look-up or know anyone that does? The only info I have is that he lived in the Cedar Springs District (430). The dwelling number is crossed out and rewritten but I think it says 271 but I'm not positive. Thanks! That piece of information is pertinent to the Pyles/Monks in Cedar Springs and the area, thanks very much, I will pass it on......Joan Herndon--Early County.

Sorry everyone! I was trying to send a message to a cousin, letting him know that my mother now has email. Please ignore it. Thanking you! Katherine.

Her address is jawjajen@surfsouth.com I don't know whether to suggest you wait and let her "surprise" you or just got ahead and write her and surprise her! Whatever--I'm just so happy that this all worked out! xxoo K
Hi All, I was wondering if a very, very old survey exists anywhere for Cedar Springs Cemetery in Early County? Joan from the Historical Society has one but I think I might need an older one (if it exists). I spoke to a family member who swears that my gr, gr grandfather, Zadock McCoy, is buried there since she saw the headstone at one time (but unfortunately doesn't remember the dates on it). It's not there now and doesn't appear on the list Joan has. Since there's no church associated with this cemetery (that I know of), are records kept anywhere of who is buried there?? Patricia Parker I'm researching the following surnames: Layton, Strickland, McCormick, McCoy, Parker, Tharp, Birch. Concentration is in the South - North Carolina, Georgia, Florida.
Pat, The sex is not always correct either. I have found some in my family in later census records that have the wrong sex marked. If it is a child it is hard to know unless you have personal family knowledge, but you might be sure to check the occupation. \ Although that may not be conclusive. ----- Original Message ----- From: <PatsFamilyTree@aol.com> To: <GAEARLY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, April 16, 2000 4:18 PM Subject: [GAEARLY-L] 1860 Early County Census Hi Everyone, Again, a big THANK YOU to everyone for trying to decipher this handwriting. I do know it's a female...that's the enumerator's mark for a female. I enlarged the page and posted it on the site without the highlight. I also posted on the bottom of the page some examples of different letters. Hopefully together we can figure this out! The link to the page has changed! The new link is: http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/p/a/r/Patricia-A- Parker/PHOTO/0011photo.html Now, I would like to return the favor to everyone for your help. I have the 1860 Early County census on a CD-ROM. If anyone would like a look-up I'll be glad to do it. There isn't an index so if you know the location that would help. If not, just give me a surname (and a first if possible) and I'll see what I can do. I seem to be able to read most of this enumerator's writing (except for the part I need of course..LOL). Patricia Parker I'm researching the following surnames: Layton, Strickland, McCormick, McCoy, Parker, Tharp, Birch. Concentration is in the South - North Carolina, Georgia, Florida.

Pat I agree with ida, think it is Mrs McCoy. My grgrandmother's middle initial was C and looks like the C there. My maternal grandmother's name was Willie and often thought to be male name. Hope this might help. Regards Kathryn
