    2. Thanks to all about the division of Early Co. Looks like the family stayed put and the border's moved from underneath them, with them ending up in Miller Co, GA. Researching William T Tiner/Tyner family. He purchased land in 1848 in Baker Co. Children were Lewis and William Wright (who both came to TX after the civil war, John (who married Georgia Ann Williford), Benjamin (who married Mary Lucretia Sheffield) and Ida (who married James Kelly). Need to find out who William's parents were. John Tiner found in 1830 and 1840 is not his father. Possible father is James who married Mary Fannel. Possible brother is Simson (Simeon) and sister Lebram who married William R King. 3. According to "The History of Miller County, Georgia 1856-1980" page 7 Early County was the original county and it was later divided into what is now Early, Calhoun, Dougherty,Baker, Miller, Mitchell,Decatur, Grady, Seminole and part of Thomas Counties. ----- Original Message ----- From: <OWENTK@aol.com> To: <GAEARLY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, November 23, 2000 11:04 PM Subject: [GAEARLY-L] Early Co distribution My Tiner family is shown in Early, Baker, then Miller Counties in GA. 2. Tammy: Yes, Miller County was created from parts of Baker and Early Counties in 1856 so it is quite possible your ancestors never moved, only the county lines. 1. [GAEARLY-L] Barbara (Barbary) REEVES & William McELVY
    2. I am looking for info regarding my g-g-g-grandparents, Barbara (Barbary) REEVES & William McELVY. They were married in 1799 and have been found as far back as 1803 in Burke Co, GA. They were in Tattnall Co, GA in 1820 and then in Decatur Co, GA in 1830 where they settled. Barbara died there in 1838 and William in 1842, I believe in the Bainbridge area. He was a Primitive Baptist preacher traveling through the wilderness and settlements preaching and establishing new churches. I have extensive info regarding 12 of their 14 children that I am willing to share. I am looking for any and all info on them, but specifically their origins such as their parents, birth places, marriage location, etc. Any and all help will be appreciated. 3. Dear Sue: Do you have access to Joyce Temple Barnett's book "Temple People" or Lucy Temple's book, "William Temple of Prince George County, Virginia and his Descendants"? I have them in my library. I check both of these and found some interesting connections for you. Joyce sights the following linage on page 10 of her book: William Temple I Samuel Temple SR. Samuel Temple JR. 1720, wife Mary inherited Temple's Mill at Temple's Mill Pond Jacob Temple 1744 Jones Temple Sarah Temple 1780-86 b. Georgia, she would be the most likely candidate for you Sarah of 1850. Joyce also states that she marrys a Christopher Burt b. NC 1775 "Jacob, his father was closely associated with Jones Bonner and that who is probably named after. Jacob's wife was Sarah Chambliss Lee, daughter of Samuel Lee SR. Both Sanuel and Jacob were cousins, both descendants of Samuel Tatum", "In 1786, Jacob Temple of South Carolina gave power of attorney to Henry Williams of Prince George to secure the dower of his wife, the widow of Samuel Lee, who he stated, died about 1759." from Lucy's book. What I also find interesting is along with the family of Samuel Jr.in the Prince George area is Burwell Temple, who I believe maybe the father of my Frederick c. 1720. If you don't have access to these books and need copies of these pages, let me know if I can fax or mail them to you. Jane is a mystery to me, but I will run it by Joyce. Respectfully, Robert Temples Robert, Do you know Jones Temples wife or mothers names? Reason I ask is because: Jonas is found on the 1850 Randolph Co., GA census living with a 70 year old Jane Temples, grandmother maybe, he is in his twenties and unmarried. The 1860, 1870 and 1880 Randolph Co., GA census show Jonas and Caroline married and Jane is not listed living with them but on the 1870 census a 68 year old Sarah is living with the family, mother maybe. She is not on the 1880 census. Do you know Jane or Sarah?????

    1. Re: [GAEARLY-L] Haire family info
    2. Jackie, I do not have any info for you, but I do have a question. On 19 March 1864 in Newton, Baker Co., Ga. Jane Sapp Glass filed for a widows pension based on the service of James Thomas Glass in the war between the states. Sarah Ann Hair and Charity Sapp made affidavit as to her relationship to said James. James Thomas Glass and Jane Sapp were married in Leon Co., Gl. Do have this Ann Hair in your records? 3. Dear Researchers: I am looking descendants and information on families of Frederick Temples that arrived in Montgomery Co, GA in the 1805 land lottery. This father and son group were there for a few years and then the son moved on the Early Co around 1825. The son moved first and his father later joined him later. We believe they both died there. We are looking for copies of Frederick Temples will 1829 (b. 1758 in Anson Co, NC). There has been confusion between identifying the Frederick's of that time period. In 1820 census there is one in Jasper Co.,GA, two are in Montgomery Co., GA, and one is in Emanuel Co., GA. The one in Jasper, we believe is the son of Jones (d. c. 1821). The two in Montgomery, we are almost certain are the father and son from Anson Co., NC. The one in Emanuel, appear to possibly be a Frederick b. 1790 in VA(not verified). Clues or assistance in identifying will be very appreciated. Joyce Temple Barnet and myself are trying to trace these lines back to NC & VA. With the distruction of so many records during the wars, we have had to relie on church, family, land, and pension records when available. We look forward to contacting other researchers of these lines.....and yes we do share! Robert Temples Lynnwood, Washington
