Hi everyone, This is just a quick message to let you know that effective yesterday (Monday, May 20th), I am the new list administrator. I'll let you all know my guidelines in the next day or two. Effective with this message, you're going to see some immediate, though minor, changes in list operations: 1. You'll now see GADODGE at the beginning of each subject line when you receive list messages. This will enable you to identify our messages immediately. 2. Those people receiving the digest will receive a smaller one and will get it much more quickly. I have the controls set to send a 20,000 byte digest every 12 hours. That means if list traffic gets heavy, you might receive 2 or 3 digests in a day (it can happen!). 3. All list replies will go back to the list. That means, if you want to talk to someone privately, you'll have to physically type their email address in the To: line; hitting 'Reply' will send your response back to everyone here. 4. Taglines, little blurbs at the end of each message, will now appear on every message. These are list helps and include unsubscribe instructions in about every 4th message. At the present, there are 101 researchers onboard. Sending a query might just land you an inline cousin, or someone who has information that can help your research. There are no restrictions on how to format your query. All I ask is that you not type it all in upper case lettering, unless you absolutely have to. (Some people have sight problems and typing in upper case allows them to see the letters better.)
