Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Ya.2ADI/651.2 Message Board Post: Thursday, May 10, 1945 Mrs Winnie Peacock Died Friday Night Mrs Winne Ada Peacock died at ther home on Eastman, Route Two, Friday night at 11:30, May 4th, following an illness of several months. She fractured her hip several months ago, and was never able to overcome the shock. She was born in Wilkinson County 76 years ago, but moved to this county several years ago. She was the daughter of the late John Cannon and Margaret NeSmith Cannon, and was a member of the Mt. Horeb Baptist Church. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 3:00 at Mt Horeb Church by Rev. Lewis Allen. Burial took place in Bowens Cemetery. Pallbearers were Alfred Hardy, L R Carr, FreemanPittman, Horace Fordham, Robert Terry, and Abram Giddens. She is survived by four sons, L S Peacock, Pete Peacock, E F Peacock and George E Peacock; five daughters, Mrs J S Ward, Mrs G T Roberts, Mrs Joe Roberts, Mrs D Smith and Mrs Alvah Minter; two brothers, John and D J Cannon; one sister, Mrs Gean Davis; 23 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Thurdsay, Oct 9, 1913 General News Elbert Peacock, a highly respected citizen of Dodge County, died near Rhine on Friday night at the advanced age of 96. (From Montgomery County Newspaper Clippins by Tad Evans) No orbit for Elbert was in the Dodge County Newspaper Clippings book.) This age doesn't agree with the age listed on the 1880 census.
