DODOGE COUNTY NEWSPAPER CLIPPINGS Source: Times Journal-Spot Light-Eastman Georgia LONG ILLNESS IS FATAL TO W.L. PIRKLE, FARMER William Lowell Pirkle , 68 years prominent Dodge County farmer, died in a local hospital Saturday, April 23 following an illness of three years. He was a native of Forsyth county, the son of the late Mr and Mrs Isaac Pirkle. He had lived in Dodge the past 45 years. He was a successful planter and was weel known in this section.. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, where services were conducted Sunday, April 24, by Rev. J. B. Evans. Songs were sung by Mr. & Mrs. Alton Mullis and J.T. and Willard Mullis, accompanied by Mrs. Robert Lewis. Pallbearers were JA and Eugene Pirkle, Otis Bennerfield, Wilbur and Milton Ragan and Emory Dennis, Interment was in the churchyard cemetery, with Horne Funeral Home in charge. In addition to his wire, the former Miss Sallie Parkerson, Mr. Pirkle is survived by the following children, Lt. Glenn S. Pirkle, Philadelphia, Pa, W.B. Pirkle, Eastman, Leonard Pirkle, of Cochran and Staff Sgt. Walter Pirkle, Ft. Bragg NC, Mrs Estelle Fordham and Mrs Jack Rawlins of Eastman Rt.# 1 and Mrs. M.B. Reynolds of Macon Also surviving are one brother E. B. Pirkle of Atlanta and 14 grandchildrens. REGARDS BRENDA passdatime@aol.com
