He died 8 jan. 1865 at Petersburg, VA. He was with the 1st Mounted SC Militia, Capt THos. H. Johnson's Co. (Savannah River Guards), Martin's Mounted Regiment, South Carolina Vols. This Regiment was also known as 1st Regiment, S.C. Mounted Militia. Per: Page 12, "Descendants of Jennings and David Futch," by Carl W. Troyer, July 26, 1992. David never made it to Georgia as you can see he never made it home from the war but he did leave a wife and children in Barnwell County, S.C. I don't know exactly when Jennings came to Georgia, but it was before my great Grandmother, Willie Rountree Futch was born in about 1874. I can get her exact date of birth from my aunt as I don't have it written down. My Great Grandmother Willie Futch Harrell reared my Aunt, my father's sister. According to the book mentioned above, Jennings Fleetwood Futch, Jr. was born 8 Feb 1869 in GA. So the family came to GA. between the end of the Civil war and 1869. Telfair County land and property records would give a better idea as they would prove he was in that area of the state when land was purchased in between census years. Gloria

Do you have any information on Margaret Futch who married Nathan Nasworthy. Margaret is buried in the Franks Cemetery. She was my gggrandmother. I visited her grave. She had been buried 113 years. My office is a mess and many files out of place. It would't be that way if I had someone to put the files away when I am done with them as I forget and then they get into piles of files. When one or two sheets is taken out of a file it sometimes ends up in the wrong file. So my dilema tonight is trying to put my hands on the file that documents our Rountree family back to Job who died on a British ship in Savannah Harbor during the American Revolution. His son Job II was the father of our William Rountree. The line goes back to England and family story was an orphaned boy was sitting under a rowan tree and became known for lack of name Rowantree. Since I can't find my large ancestral charts and can't find the file tonight I will just try to use my memory, though I think I do also have this on disc. Our Futch line comes from Barnwell County, SC and Jennings and David are thought to be the sons of either John B. Futch or Reuben Futch. To prove whose children they are one would need to get into the Barnwell County, S.C. land records and see where they were living and what property they owned and if their father is mentioned on any of the land sales or transactions naming them as sons. This John and Reuben Futch may be the sons of Jacob Blunt Futch whose name is found among many Colonial Records in SC. I have copies of most of those and also copies of the Rountree wills from the Barnwell County records that I copied when I went there about ten years ago. Due to the other projects I was involved in I let my own personal research sit untouched for many years while I helped others so that is why this file was never worked and completed. Same for many others. Not complaining as I enjoyed helping others but in my lifetime I would love to know a bit more about the Futch family and document Jennings and David's parents. I am happy to share any of these papers with you both and my first opportunity I will go to a copy shop and make copies of the ones that I think would be the most beneficial in continuing this search. Also I have made copies of the photo that I have of Jennings Futch and do have one of Reuben too. If we pay any attention to naming patterns I think we might have some O'banions in our line, and also some Fleetwood's. Also the name Reuben was used in several generations. We also descend from the William Anderson line in Colonial SC. though our Rountree family. Sure wish I could find that file, but I will look tomorrow and will send you the names of our direct line back to the earliest of our Rountrees in this country. Most of this has wills and property to back up each generation to Mary Rountree wife of our Jennings Futch. Gloria

Who would be Jenning's father?? from the lineage of Andreas Fuchs??or someone else. If what you and Mr Harrell sent to each other is all correct, then we are all related somehow. My father was Wm Oscar Futch, Jr son of William Oscar Futch, Sr., son of Levi O'Banion and Rosina Belle McEachin. I always wondered why my mother said, if one of us had been a boy, he would have been called Terance O'Banion and I thought, where did they get that? I had always thought that we were scotch-Irish, but the lineage is german. My mother's grandparents were Karows and Mielkes from Prussian Germany, near the Palatine area. The Eli Mullis who married Martha Brooks appears to be my GGGGrandfather. I have no further information about them other than the names of two (2) children, Franklin and Lydia Mullis. My line is through Lydia Mullis who married, Henry Mullis (a cousin) Dec 31, 1876 in Dodge County. Would like to share information.
