Hello all, while trying to find articles pertaining to my families I came across one with the title of : "Roland Admits Double Killing______Father & Son Held For Murder of James and Charles Cannon in Quarrel at Dance Near Gresham." The article comes from Eastman & is dated 01 February 1920. Apparently this confession took place at the home of M. L. Bailey who was having a dance in his house. My question is, does anyone know about this & is this Bailey Minza Leonard Bailey? I ask because the only M. L. Bailey I can think of are my Second Great Grandfather who lived in this area & his son Marcus Leonard. Thank You, Lena --------------------------------- Yahoo! I don't know any dates and I'm unsure of the spelling of some names, which I will note. Benjamin Allen Peacock and Susan Cason actually had 9 children: Warren Peacock was the oldest. He moved to Miami, Fl where he was a cabdriver. His wife was a seamstress, but I don't know her name. They had 2 daughters, Lois and unknown, and a son Ralph. John Peacock, Crescent City, FL. - Don't know his wife's name, but, some, possibly not all of their children were sons Merrill (sp?), Mangen (sp?), Clarence and Leslie (who is still living in St. Augustine). Lelia Peacock married Henry Brown - they lived in Chauncey, GA. Their children were John, Henry J., Paul, Claude, B.A. and one daughter, Jewel who married a McCranie. Pearlie Mae (also known as Pearl) Peacock (my grandmother) married Thomas Lovett Graham. They lived in Chauncey, GA. Their children were Myrtel (died at 18 months) Joseph Warren (also known as Joe or J.W.), Eudele (married Eschol Shipwash), Leonard, Arlene (my mother), Thomas L. (also known as Bunk), Mildred (married Locke Moore), Samuel John (known as Johnny), Lester and Donald. Lella (sp?) Peacock, whose second husband was Kirby Cobia. Her first husband was a McCranie. They had one son who died. Don't know if she and Kirby had any children. Clifford Peacock was in the "picture business" as my relatives say, as was my uncle Joe. They traveled all over the country hand-painting people's family photos and duplicating them. He had no children. Ommie (sp?) Peacock. Died in childbirth at the age of 16. Don't know what her husband's name was, but the child died as well. Alice Peacock married Elbert Tyner. They had three daughters: Wylene (still living near Ft. Valley, GA, now Wylene Smith), Cleone & Barbara and a son Edril Tyner. Curtis Peacock was the youngest. His wife's name was Alma. They lived in Warner Robbins, GA. They had a son Jimmy (still living in Queens, NY.) and a daughter Faytonia who died young. Mildred has a couple of photos of Susan Cason and Benjamin Peacock and one with some of their children. She's going to get them scanned and send them to me and if anyone is interested I can forward them on once I get them. She's 77 now, so this will probably take a few weeks. But just email me if you want them. I just spent Christmas with Mildred and saw the photos for the first time, which is what resparked my geneaological interest. ==== GADODGE Mailing List ==== Need to reach the list manager?
