I THINK THAT AUSTIN LIVED IN HAWKINSVILLE WHEN HE PASSED AWAY. THAT MAY BE THE REASON YOU COULD NOT FIND HIS OBIT IN THE DODGE CO PAPER. HARRIETT AND JAMES NELSON WAS LIVING IN DUBLIN AT THE TIME OF HER DEATH IN NOV 1929.I AM ALSO TOLD THAT JAMES IRA CROSS IS BURIED IN BOWERS CEMETERY(NOT FOR SURE). I HAVE VISITED THIS CEMETERY BECAUSE THIS IS WHERE MATTIE AND HC JIMMERSON ARE BURIED THEY ARE THE ONES THAT RAISED MY MOM AFTER COBB DYKES WAS KILLED BY A TRAIN. MATTIE WAS MARRIED TO HIM FIRST. HARRIETT WAS MARRIED TO HOLDER IN 1915, NELSON IN 1925 SO SHE HAD TO BE MARRIED TO CROSS IN BETWEEN, JUST CAN'T FIND ANY PROOF. I KNOW THAT MY MOM'S SISTER WAS BORN IN 1919 IN WAYCROSS. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP SUE

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Ya.2ADI/884.1.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: There is no marriage listed in the Dodge County or Bleckley County marriage books, nor in a data base of Pulaski County marriages that I have. Also no marriage listed at Ancestry.Com or LDS website. There are several James Nelsons on the Georgia death index at Ancestry.Com, but no James E Nelson that appears to be yours. The other thing is that I can't find Cross or Nelson on a census either. I've not been able to find Harriett after the 1910 census where she is still living at home. Do you have her full name or nickname? There was a J J Holder from Dodge County who died during WW I, is that James Austin's father. I check for an orbit for James Austin Holder, but didn't find one listed in Tad Evans's Dodge County Newspaper Clipping books, nor could I find anything on Cross or Nelson. I also checked the Dodge County Cemetery book. There I found James Austin Holder and his wife, but no Cross or Nelson, husbands of Harriett. Bernice

    1. [GADODGE] Mrs. Inez HOWELL
    2. I do hope I won't confuse anyone more here - but just happened to catch my eye in the List note: "Cobb and Herman Dykes were killed Jan 1929 when their truck was struck by by a train at a grade crossing in near Gresston. Cobb was survied by wife, Mattie Mullis Dykes and adopted dau Louise Cross, 6 yrs old and dau Mrs Inez Howell." Wonder this may have been Mrs. Inex HOWELL who lived around the corner from me in Americus, Sumter Co, GA while I was growing up. If so, her dau was mar to a JONES & she had a Granddau named Mary JONES. Mrs HOWELL & Mrs. JONES ran the lunchroom at our Junior High School & their granddau Mary was a year younger than me. MY maiden name is HOWELL, but I've never known of any relation to Mrs. HOWELL - just remember her from our neighborhood, school & the granddau..... My HOWELLs were from NC to South GA in the Milltown, Berrien Co, GA area - now named Lakeland, Lanier Co, GA. Also possibly connected to HOWELLs in Lowndes Co, GA. But in Dodge Co - my husb's STUDSTILLs plus more lines were all in that area!!! Sarah Howell Studstill
