Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Ya.2ADI/632 Message Board Post: I am looking for the parents of Mildred Bailey who married Ernest C. Griner (these are my great-grandparents). Mildred Bailey was born in Adrian, Georgia (Emanuel County) on June 16,1898. She lived in Valdosta, Georgia most of her life, was a charter member of both the Mary Talbot Sunday School & Valdosta Garden Club, & a member of the First Baptist Church. Mildred Bailey married Ernest C. Griner (Ernest C. Griner was born in Nashville, Georgia) while he was a teacher (he was eligible to teach in both Dodge & Irwin Counties, Georgia). Her Dad's last name was Bailey & I believe her Mom's maiden name was Drake (she passed-away when Midlred Bailey Griner was little girl & her Dad remarried having a few children with his second wife). Mildred & Ernest Griner had the following children: Dr. Ernest Ray Griner, Mildred Griner Sage, & Emily Griner Bonner. Mildred Bailey Griner passed-away in Bossier City, LA & was buried in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Valdosta. The name William sticks out for some reason as the name of her father, but I have yet to find any 1900 censuses which would affirm a William Bailey with children; & the name Robert as a half-brother or brother. Any help given would be greatly appreciated & I would be more than happy to share any information I have on my other family trees I am tracing (among them are: Randall, Pace, Griner, Lane, Williams-father John Williams mother Mary Keeling Williams of England to VA-Stallings-mainly Nicholas to Elias, Sr. to Elias, Jr., to Jesse to Malachi & all sons/daughters after Malachi but I have plenty of info. on all my 'side Stallings from Nicholas's line, Shreve, McCrary, Drewry, & other surnames-will provide a full list upon request for there are too many to list here :). Maude Estelle Conley was b. Jul. 15, 1905 in Milan, Telfair Co., (which is almost on the Dodge Co. line), and d. Dec. 9, 1982, in Fernandina, Nassau Co., FL. "Supposedly', Maude married a Marvin Hinson/Henson, before their daughter, Lola was born in 32. Lola said her mother, Maude, said that after her and Marvin married, they went to live with his parents. She 'thinks' his father's name may have been John? Hinson. Lola also thinks she remembers her mother Maude saying that his parents were sick, and she took care of them? Anyway, 'supposedly' something happened between Maude and Marvin. Maude, pregnant, left and went back home to live with her parents, John Mose Conley & Julia Sewell. (Found a Mose Conley, (1920 census), with wife Sopphie.) When Maude gave birth to Lola, Maude's father John Mose Conley, would not 'let' Maude give Lola the Hinson name??? See what I mean? I would really LOVE to find something on this. Lola said it doesn't matter to her, which ever way it comes out. Maude then married (abt. 1934) Thomas (Buddy) Jefferson McGovern, and he gave Lola his name, and raised her as his. I do not know if this, (Cey?McGovern) marriage occured in GA., or FL., as they did end up living in FL. Can you help me in anyway on this problem. Lola would really love to know something. I know a lot of things back then were NOT recorded, but.....and she can handle whatever is thrown her way. I would LOVE to find a marriage for Marvin & Maude, but that may not be the case....things happened... :-( Thanks for any help in this mystery. Kay PM...thanks that for looking.

Hi all, Quiet... yep, that's what I've been the past month. I'm afraid it will all probably continue too, until after May. I'm so busy and socked up that I barely have any computer time right now. HOWEVER, we MUST your month unfulfilled with a genealogical challenge! :) Let's see, it's February, the month of love, so I offer you the following challenge... Tell us about a county couple whose marriage lasted 50 years or more ~ a biography on their lives. Be as informative as you're able (parents, places of birth, death, & marriage; their children, etc), however, please do NOT tell us about anyone living ~ only those who have passed on, please. I'll now retreat to my quiet corner and once again become a ghost in the shadows. Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! :) Colleen

Or you can contact the person who is the Coordinator for the Cemetery Project pages and the Obituaries Project. As I advised you before the list were never set up to be a place to post continous cemetery, obituary or any type of material. That is why we have the county pages and the data bases that we have. If you need the atta girl then post it to the archives and give yourself a big pat on the back as being the contributor.
