WOW!!! The response is over whelming and it is great! To answer the most asked question; I am the old man with the Labrador (her name is Cheyenne, my granddaughter) and my son who has never married (Cheyenne belongs to him). I am trying to respond to the e-mails and posting to the guestbook. I will take some time. I am getting information by the ton. It will take awhile to glean it. I will e-mail responders when I update it. Thanks, to all who responded and the accolades for the web site. I must say that the software I use is Legacy (It was Free for the basic) for my database and it created the web site for me in 10 minutes. I did do some minor changes. It is the best genealogical software package I have ever used and I have used many. It took over 4 hours to upload it on a high-speed connection. (About 100 Meg.) This was very easy to do. Again, thanks to all. David L. Sorry to bother you nice people again but I was informed that I left the subject line blank and the receivers might just delete it. So I am re-sending it. Below is the original message. I have only been doing this for a few years. I hope that you will enjoy looking at the information. I am sending this to all the sites I subscribe to, hoping for feed back and new and undated information. If you have pictures of some of these people I would love to have a copy to post. If there is anyone who might have pictures of Guy Vann, who worked as superintendent at the Eastman Textile Mills in Dodge County for many years before 1950, or his family I would very much appreciate it if they would consider sharing a copy with me. He lived in Eastman with his wife Annie Lucille and his son Ishmael. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who might have known them. Thank you. ----- Original Message ----- From: <GADODGE-D-request@rootsweb.com> To: <GADODGE-D@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, March 01, 2003 9:00 PM Subject: GADODGE-D Digest V03 #28

It's been several yrs since I've been now, Mr. Ladson has died since I was there, so I don't know what, if any, changes may have been made - as I understood when I went several times, the books, etc belonged to Mr. Jack Ladson & the Ohoopee Regional Library maintained their facilities, I believe. Mrs. Emily Hartz was there when I would go & she was a pure genius at finding anything they had! Treat yourself & visit that one - another of course is Macon's Washington Memorial Lib, as well as Huxford Gen Library in Homerville......so if you have a chance to go & haven't been to those, you're in for more treats! Good luck, Sarah Howell Studstill

Ladson Genealogical and Historical Research Library. it's in Toombs County. The phone number is 912-537-8182 http://www.vidaliaga.com/library/index.html. if nothing else maybe contacting them they can tell you if there is anything in Dodge County that will help you.
