Roy Hunter rghunter3@juno.com Major John Yancey Flowers was born July 16th, 1815, in Abbeville, South Carolina. He married Dicy Reeve (1817-1868), daughter of George W. Reeve, on January 6th, 1836 in Abbeville S.C. In 1860 he was 44 years old, married, with seven children at home. He and his family lived on a large farm in the Cross Keys District of DeKalb County, Georgia. He and his wife must have been especially proud of their oldest son, George N.
