Thanks, Sue. Yes, that is the family. Since I was in Trenton, I have discovered that Mr Sammons' given name was James, and that his wife Betsy [wife of Bird Street] was Elizabeth Wilkinson. Many of the Wilkinson's in Dade County were her siblings. Only wish I had known that a couple years ago when I was visiting you. However, I have hit that proverbial brick wall with James Sammons and his family. FYI -- Sarah Sammons who married Joe Brown has a brother William who married Nancy Ross, the sister of Lewis's wife Rachel and a sister Martha who married William Walter Blake.
