Tommy, I couldn't find any of the names on my Dade cemetery recordings you listed. However, I checked the CHATTANOOGA TIMES obit index. I did not find any James Cardruss Thompson but found two James C. Thompson: 1) in paper 13 Nov 1989; 2) in paper 13 May 1991. The next step would be to pull the newspaper microfilm for the obit. There was no William Oscar Thompson. One William Oliver Thompson and more than one William Thompson. There is an obit for Ola Thompson which appeared 14 Nov 1941. If she died in Hamilton co TN there should be a death certificate for her. TN death certificates begin in 1908 (except the year 1913). I'll check the GA death certificate index for you as soon as I can. Their parents were William Oscar Thompson and Ola Long Thompson at the time of their deaths 1920's and or 1930's they were living in Chattanoga Tn. possibly East Lake area or East Ridge. Ola Long Thompson: it isn't known to us if Long is her given middle name that she kept after marriage or if that were her maiden name, my father was known to have referred to Grandpa O'Neal and it is thought that this is her side of the family possible her father or maternal grandfather. And my mother thinks that it was at Grandpa O'Neal's home that my father was born. > William and Ola should show up on census data from 1900 and possibly 1880. We don't know where they were buried but likely Dade County. > > Anyone, any help will be greatly appreciated!
