Also I am trying to find date for the marriage of Jesse POWELL to Hixie MARTIN, married between 1834 - 1837. Jesse POWELL was born January 14, 1810 and Hixie MARTIN was born June 26, 1816 in Warren Co, TN. They lived and raised a family in Dade County. Jesse POWELL and Hixie MARTIN lived next door to Peter TITTLE, Hixie's brother-in-law, in 1840 in Dade County, Georgia. From maps of that area from the Civil War, Peter TITTLE (Hixie's cousin) lived about 1/4 mile from Tavner MARTIN (Hixie's father) who lived right on the border of Dade Co, GA. and Hamilton Co, TN. Jesse POWELL died before 1870 as Hixie MARTIN-POWELL was listed on the 1870 Dade Co, GA. census as"widow". P.O. Morganville, household #140. Their known children were 1) Jesse W; who moved to Hill County, Texas. 2)Rhoda Elizabeth, marr. Benjamin Joseph HOWARD, lived So. Pittsburg, TN, Jackson County, AL. and Dade County, Georgia (after Ben HOWARD's death Rhoda and all HOWARD sons (11) moved to Hill County, Texas) 3) Sarah, 4) William E. married Sarah A.(Unknown);moved to Hill County, TX 5) Judy Ann, married Daniel E. ELLIS, lived Dade County, Georgia and moved later to Texas, McLennan, Hill & Smith Couonties. 6) John Tavner who married Emily STONE, stayed in Tennessee and Georgia. Believed to be son of Jesse POWELL and Hixie MARTIN, 7) Robert D. POWELL, born June 27, 1855 GA, died April 02, 1938 Smith County, Texas. Buried Union Chapel Cemetery in Smith County, TX. (It was in Van Zandt county). Robert was married to Lula E. (Unknown)born February 01, 1875, died December 21, Smith Co. or Van Zandt Co, Texas, buried Union Chapel Cemetery in Smith County, TX.
