I have been unable to find any ELLIS in Dade County in 1880 until now. I am searching for the parents and siblings of Daniel E. Ellis who lived in Dade County, Texas. Descendants of Daniel E. Ellis Generation No. 1 1. DANIEL E.1 ELLIS1,2 was born March 11, 1851 in Germany or Chattanooga, Hamilton Co, TN., and died February 04, 1921 in Garden Valley, Smith Co, TX.. He married JUDA (JUDY) "ANN" POWELL2 March 08, 1877 in Dade Co, GA.3,4,5, daughter of JESSE POWELL and HIXIE MARTIN. She was born January 20, 1851 in Dade County or Macon, GA., and died May 25, 1918 in Garden Valley, Smith Co, TX.. Notes for DANIEL E. ELLIS: Daniel E. ELLIS’s family settled in Dade County, Georgia and Hamilton County, Tennessee. His parents and/or siblings are not known at this time. Dan married Judy "Ann" POWELL of Dade County, Georgia March 8, 1877. They lived in Dade County, Georgia where their first two sons, Edd W. (2/27/1878) and William M. (April 1879) were born.. In 1880 they lived next door to Ann's brother, William E. POWELL, and his family, in Dade County, Georgia. Here their first two daughters Hixie Isabelle (3/10/1881) and Doan (5/30/1884) were born. Ann POWELL's other brother John Tavner POWELL also lived in Dade County. Dan and Ann ELLIS also lived close to her cousins Peter & Adam TITTLE and Dabney MARTIN. Some time after 1884 Dan & Judy ELLIS, along with Judy's brothers William E. and Jesse W. POWELL moved their family to Texas, near the towns of West and Waco. Dan Ellis had a Mercantile Store near West, Texas, (1901) probably Rienza (Rienza no longer exists), a few miles f! rom Waco, Texas. After the move to Texas daughters Pearline Dora (1/20/1886), and Sally (1/1/1888) and sons Eugene (3/10/1889) and John L. (3/28/1891) were born. Dan and Ann ELLIS later moved to Garden Valley, Texas and farmed., Garden Valley was in Van Zandt County at that time. Daniel E. ELLIS died in 1921. His wife Ann POWELL-ELLIS died in 1918.
