Dear Sue: Please know of my deep appreciation for the news items you have shared today. I am so grateful for your consideration of my long search for any clues to the remnants of this family. At this time, I do not have a date or place for the death of Thomas J. Payne. Now that I have a few more leads, I hope to learn more as we work through these new clues. I will post my findings on the Dade and DeKalb websites as I find more. Sue, what can you tell me about the Byrd Chapel that is referenced in the final news item? Do you have a listing of burials near that site? Perhaps, this was the family's chosen burial place for other members, as well. I have also been told that there is a Payne cemetery in the area--what do you know about its location and holdings? I would like to visit this area in our next trip to Tennessee. Thanks so much for any and all that you find.
