No Delilah the James Avans I was referring to was a brother of Thomas Jefferson Avans. He was either a full brother or a half brother and from the census records he would be a full brother. It gets confusing doesn't it. This Jim was 66 years old in 1930 and was the father of a 6 year old son. The son was alive last year. From all I can gather from family stories he left this wife in Knoxville and left with a younger woman. Hope this helps, Paul ----- Original Message ----- From: Delilah To: GADADE-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Thursday, March 04, 2004 8:07 AM Subject: Re: [GADADE] Avans I wasn't going to Knoxville, I have a person up there who will check things for me, James was one of the children, was he not? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Paul Vance" <paulvance@msn.com> To: <GADADE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, March 03, 2004 7:57 PM Subject: Re: [GADADE] Avans > Delilah: > Thomas Jefferson was the one that had children that were living withsome one else in 1910. > I am talking about James. > It is in the 1930 census.
