Payne, born 1821, Granger Co. TN to Isaac Payne and Charlotte McDaniel. This Payne family moved to McMinn Co. TN about 1830. This subject, Thomas Payne resided in McMinn Co. in 1850, with wife Louise and infant son, James. He may have served in the Civil War with his siblings from McMinn Co. No trace of him after 1850, but one clue is---he moved to the Rising Fawn area. I am completing a family history of this Payne Family and would like to locate any information regarding this missing line. I will be pleased to share any information. If you know of a possible lead to this descendancy, please write. All help is appreciated.

If I am not mistaken, and I often am, Larkin Payne was in Marion Co., TN before he came to Dade. I believe there are land records that mention him and his parents. Hope this helps, Paul R.L.
