I have a Caroline Mathis born in 1842. She is the daughter of John Elijah (E.J.) Mathis and Elvira McDonough Mathis. They are often listed as Mathews/Matthews. She was born in TN, listed in 1850 and 1880 in Hamilton County, TN with her parents. I haven't located her in 1860 and I'm not sure where she is in 1870. I may have forgotten to add her to my files if she was living with her parents. I do have them in 1870 in Hamilton County. I haven't seen any record of her marrying. She is listed as single in 1880.
