I have been told maybe either Dade or Crawford County. He married a Mary Caroline Matthews/Mathis, she was born 1844. William died 12/8/1907 and is buried in Payne Cemetery in Dade County. He was in the Calvary in the Civil War. I do know that his horse was shot out from under him and he walked in blood above his ankles to get back to his company.
