Jesse POWELL was born January 14, 1810 and Hixie MARTIN was born June 26, 1816 in Warren Co, TN. They lived and raised a family in Dade County. Their known children were 1) Jesse;moved Hill County, Texas. 2)Rhoda Elizabeth, marr. Benjamin Joseph HOWARD (after Ben Howard's death Rhoda and all Howard sons moved to Hill, Tarrant County, Texas 3) Sarah, 4) William E. married Sarah A.(Unknown);moved Hill County,TX 5) Judy Ann, married Daniel E. ELLIS, moved later to Texas. 6) John Tavner who married Emily STONE. Robert D. Powell, born June 27, 1855 GA, died April 02, 1938 Smith County, Texas. Buried Union Chapel Cemetery in Smith County, TX. It was in Van Zandt county at the time Ma wrote in her bible. Robert was married to Lula E. (Unknown)born February 01, 1875, died December 21, Smith Co. or Van Zandt Co, Texas, buried Union Chapel Cemetery in Smith County, TX. It was in Van Zandt county at the time Ma wrote in her bible. Virginia: Does your records show that Hixie and Jesse were married in 1840? That probably means they were married in Warren or De Kalb or Cannon Co. TN. Have you seen the deed in Dade Co where Hixie bought 5 acres from two Powell women?
