Your name seems familiar and I know I've corresponded with someone about this family. However, when I looked in my database, I did not have a marriage record for this couple. But I'm glad you asked because I did indeed find the marriage record in Dade Co. A.J. Frazier m. Mary E. Chadwick, Mar. 4, 1885, p. 473 of Dade Co. Marriage records 1866-1888. I'll add this to my records, too.

We will also have the kitchen so please bring a covered dish or something to snack on as we will be there through lunch and after. I am pleading that you bring your family information, files, pictures and anything to do with the area of Walker County, GA. It could be the missing link that someone is needing! If you are a descendant of Baillen Britton O'Neal & Hannah Sherrell and have documentation please contact me @ dsmitty930@yahoo.com. The sons of Baillen and Hannah are James (b-abt.1790), Phillip (b-abt. 1795), Andrew (b-1799), Zachariah (b-1800), Albert (b-1805) and Bird Brittian (b-1811). Breif History: Baillen was born in Greenville, South Carolina and so were the sons, they came into Clarksville, Habersham County, Ga between 1820-1830. Andrew went in to Madison County and then on to Dekalb County, Alabama where his brothers Albert and Phillip were by 1856. Baillen, Zachariah, James and Bird came north into Trenton, Dade County Ga by 1840. This will be the 1st reunion in a long long long time. It will be held in Trenton, Dade County, Ga. This is where Baillen, Hannah, Zachariah, Katherine(Zachariah's wife), James. They are all buried at the Baptist Cemetery. I know some of the names of the descendents and I know the family is spread all over. but if you are a descendent please contact me.

It was made from the southwest corner facing northeast so what you are seeing is the south end of the courthouse. The mountain in the background is Lookout Mountain.     3. Pat, at the present time I do not have the names of Louisa Powell's parents. I am not familiar with Cane Creek, GA; however, I know that the marriage of Thomas J. Payne and Louisa Powell occurred in McMinn Co, TN in 1848. Perhaps her parents resided in that area and could be found in the 1840 or 1850 census. Maybe they all moved to GA/Al together, sometime after 1850. I will continue to comb through my notes for any answer to your question. Thanks for writing.     3. I monitor the Thornhill surname site and this post was made tonight. With the TN reference and knowing the Gass surname is in Dade County too. Thought I should pass this on you all.... Alexander C. Thornhill and his wife Minerva B. probable son: Joseph Thornhill marriage license to wed Mary Polly Gass on 31 Aug 1830 in Jefferson Co. Tn. She was born in 1805 and died after 1880. He died around 1842. Probable children were: Thomas b Mar 1829 m Leah W. Joseph Marion b 1830 m 30 Mar 1847 to Sarah Crow or Murray. 8 children Samuel b 1832/5 m 30 Sep 1868 to Margaret E. Cline in Jefferson Co. Tn. Jane b @ 1845 m 10 Jan 1859 in Jefferson Co. to James Ashmore. John A b @ 1841 died 24 Jun 1865. Margaret Emily b 1 May 1842 m 10Oct 1861 to Wm. A. Bowers (1839-1905). She died 24 APr 1899 and is buried in the Cedar Grove cemetery in Hamblen Co. TN. 13 children. Gil

    2. my Amanda Payne married thomas potter.they were from walker county .They had 3 children,robert, clara and nellie potter,so i guess yours is a different one.I know nothing about my Amanda except her name and death date.Thanks Charlotte
