Ha, Ha, ha,..... You bet I was !!!!! How are you doing ? Well, we are getting excited about our trip to Chatt next month. We are leaving here on the 2nd, and staying until the 16th. My husband George wants to see all the Civil War sites he can. We will be coming to Trenton, as I am going to stop in the courthouse for awhile, so that I can copy EVERYTHING I can find !!! George & our son will just have to "get Lost" for awhile ! I will call you when we get there, so at least I can say "hi". Send me your phone number, I can't find it around here anywhere. Well, talk to you later. Anything, you want from Arizona ? Let me know, I'll bring it. Hi Tommy, Have searched my data base but don't find your Thompsons but I have a number of ancestors who were in Dade County, GA and Marion County, TN, as well as Dekalb and Jackson counties in AL, that were O'Neals. If you have any information on the O'Neal's, there is a possibility I may have some information that connects. Hi, My Grandmother Martha Matilda "Mattie" Page was born in Trenton in 1874. She said she was 1/16th Cherokee. Her father John A. Page was born in Chattanooga and her Mother Lascie Jane Rogers Page was born in Trenton per verbal history. Will you look for these names or of descendants in your books, please. Thank you very much, Paulette Rhyne Goble

another thought, as I remember Daddy telling it, he was a student at McCallie School in Chattanooga when his father died and consequently had to drop out of school to go to work to help support the family. So that would have put William Oscar's death in the early 1920's. I have emailed McCallie with a request but that has been a few days ago and haven't heard anything. Thanks again...tt

Sue, thanks for this info, I just called my mother and told her of the info about Ola d.1941 and even though she had not met my father at that time she thinks that the date of death would fit with what Daddy had told her. So that may indeed be my Grandmother. We realy do appreciate your help.........Tommy
Hi Sue, These are the ones. In a separate email I will send you what I have on them, that way this one doesn't get so jumbled. Amy, Hawkins Cemetery is in Dade County on Lookout Mountain. There are no Peterson buried in this cemetery or none with a tombstone. SUE,, I know you are real busy, hehehe. But here i come. could you see if anywhere there is a Arthur Parker born1880 up in date - 1900 some where buried dade co,ga some thinks hes in Murphys Hollow but you know and i know on the tomstones he isnt listed maybe by not having a stone. He may be in Marion Co,Tn but would like to try Dade first.... Linda
Sylvia, My husband and I have recorded every burial site we can find in Dade Co. The county has many unmarked graves and if you have any information even if it is just names and "ca dates" that I can add, I would love to include it. Finding a tombstone with dates prior to 1860 doesn't happen often. No Asberry/Asbury tombstones. There was a Mary Asbury (age 92, b. VA 1850 census) who was in the household of Pearse S. Meadows... was she one of your ancestors? Pat Stansbury is working on this Meadows line. Richmond Asberry (age 23, TN) was in the household of James Richmond, 1850. James was in the county before 1840. Here is one for you... Summit Cemetery: Robert A. Richmond, Jan 15, 1856 - Oct 11, 1860. Asberry Richmond was still in Dade Co after 1880. James Richmond who was 82 on the 1870 census died (I think) in 1879. I have some notes on that somewhere. But I don't know where he is buried in the county. There is a Richmond Gulf here... probably named for your Richmond ancestor. If you have first names on your Price families, let me know and I'll check them for you. Could someone look to see if there are any Peterson's buried in the Hawkins cemetery? I'm looking to see where Jno. M. Peterson is buried in Walker County. His wife shows up in Texas in the 1900 census without him, but they were in Walker County in the 1860, 1870 and 1880 census. Her name prior to marriage was Louise Hawkins. I thought maybe that might be here family cemetery. Thanks in advance, Amy Vaughn [email protected] http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi

Tommy, I couldn't find any of the names on my Dade cemetery recordings you listed. However, I checked the CHATTANOOGA TIMES obit index. I did not find any James Cardruss Thompson but found two James C. Thompson: 1) in paper 13 Nov 1989; 2) in paper 13 May 1991. The next step would be to pull the newspaper microfilm for the obit. There was no William Oscar Thompson. One William Oliver Thompson and more than one William Thompson. There is an obit for Ola Thompson which appeared 14 Nov 1941. If she died in Hamilton co TN there should be a death certificate for her. TN death certificates begin in 1908 (except the year 1913). I'll check the GA death certificate index for you as soon as I can.
