Susie: John A. was a year old in the 1850 census and was born in TN. It is my assumption that he was born in Marion Co. just before the Davis family and Edward and Aley moved to Dade. All the rest of Edward and Aley's children were born in Dade. Yep, Thomas Watson Evans (notice spelling) was my grandfather, he had a brother named James (Uncle Jim) and a sister named Aley (Allie) would like to have her line if you got it, BTW, Thomas Watson's daddy's name was spelled Avans - don't know how we wound up spelling it with an 'E' - my daddy was born Gordon Tom on Durham Road, Walker County, but when he got his birth certificate, it was listed Thomas Gordon Evans, Jan 26, 1909, so I guess he like that better, anyway he always said it was supposed to be spelled with an 'A' - I can download you what I have if you want. delilah evans/avans At 11:55 3/17/01 -0500, you wrote: >Please reply to the list or [email protected] > >-----Original Message----- >From: Foye Rogers [SMTP:[email protected]] >Sent: Saturday, March 17, 2001 11:20 AM >To: [email protected] >Cc: [email protected] >Subject: {not a subscriber} Pages > >Sue and SusieB: >Will be home tomorrow night some time. I got the following email and could not help her. Can any of you give her an assist? Dennie My grandmother, Carra Lee Wade, later Carlee Clements, was according to family word of mouth, born in Dade County(Lookout Mt., I think) in 1879. I found her & her family--Robert Wade, father, & Mary Kemp, mother, in the DeKalb County, Alabama, 1880 census. I have found her nowhere else until 1910 census in Illinois. I think Robert's parents were Xerxes & Margaret Wade. I can find them nowhere but in the same 1880 census as Robert. Do you know of any of these names? They seem to have moved around a lot. Thanks a lot. Bonita Clements Burnett [email protected]

I've been studying over my PAGE file, and the only name that even bares a simularity to Minnie, would be Margaret Jane Page that married a Lancaster, she was born in 1850. Minnie could be short for Margaret "Wild Guess"....... Suzie
The only Minnie I have is the wife of Robert Page, from the 1910 Dade Co. GA. census. I know this isn't the lady. Suzie
I don't know of any Cherokee blood in our PAGE family, but there is Africa bllod in the Davis family. Sorry it took me so long to reply, I was booted off and had a hard time connecting back on........servers....BLAH! Suzie
Suzie and Paulette, Per a written notation I have that Paul gave me, John was the son of Edmond. On the 1870 census of Dade Co it states that John was born in TN as was Lascy J., his wife. Edward was married to Alia Davis (again per Paul). Edward was on the 1860 Dade Co census with the following: Edward Page, 31m farm laborer Ga Alia, 31f TN John, 11m Tn Margaret J., 9f Ga Sina E., 4f Ga William T., 2 Ga Sarah E., 8 /12 Ga He was also on the 1870 and 1880. I couldn't find Lascie Jane Rogers in Dade Co until 1870 on the census with John. I didn't find a marriage record for them either. Paul has noted several marriage for the children of Edward Page. I don't have Cherokee By Blood here at home. We are buying them at the library but that is slow because of m-o-n-e-y.
