    3. Dear Donna, I saw your post on Crawford Cty. website and am interested in the info. you have on the Sawyers of that county. I am trying to find out who the parents of my gggrandfather, William Sawyer, were. Maybe you can help me. This is what I know about him: William Sawyer b. ca. 1830-35, S. C. or Ga. Married Amafsa L. (Massey) Pryor(Prior) in Russell Cty.Ala. on Jan. 15, 1852. They were on the 1860 Houston Cty, Ga. census and in 1870 they were on the Pulaski cty, Ga. census. By 1880 they had moved to Dodge Cty, Ga. Children were: Mary, Laura, Henry Barto, Martha(Mattie), William Thomas(Tom, my ggrandfather) and Lillace. I suspect that my William was the 19 year old single male listed on the 1850 Houston cty, Ga. census also. There was an older William Sawyer in Houston Cty on the 1840 Census with several male children and I suspect that he could be my William's father but I have no proof. This older William was also in Crawford Cty in 1830 along with Elkanah, Lewis, Patrick, Martin or Mastin, and Rebecca. Do you have the spouses and children of any of the Crawford Cty, Ga. Sawyers? Any info you can provide will be appreciated. Thank You. Barbara Grizzle bjgrizzle@mindspring.com
