    1. [GACRAWFO] Burnett/ Start in Putnam County
    2. Margie Daniels
    3. You may want to check Putnam county. There are records there and I believe that he was there at one time. I do know that he had ties to the Glover family, either from friendship or being related. For more on the Mt Paron Church send a message to Millie Stewart. John Glover was one of two men that donated land for the church. He and other Glover family members are buried there. 2. Jackie, Thank you. I had the dates for Rev. Samuel Branch Burnett, but I did not know about the burial at Mt. Paron Church Cemetery. I have more ancestors buried there also. Evidently, when the Hatchers migrated to Crawford Co. and etc., they became active members of Mt. Paron Baptist Church. I will be interested to know what more you have on the Burnetts but I can wait. This seems to be a continual project and most of it is dead ends and seemingly nothing followed by an avalanche of data when I break through a wall (usually, thanks to many distant and not-so-distant cousins and other very helpful souls) I will look forward to hearing from you again and if I have anything you would be interested in, of course, I will be most happy to share. Thanks again, Eve

    1. Re: [GACRAWFO] Ancestors: Hatcher, Perry, Burnett
    2. Eve, Reverend Samuel Branch Burnett is my husband's great-great-great grandpa. He is buried by his wife, Patience Mahala Morris, in the Mt. Paron Baptist Church Cemetery in Crawford County, in fact there is an impressive tombstone on the family plot. The tombstone reads FAMILY OF ELDER SAMUEL B. BURNETT. The church is presently named the Bethany Bible Chapel. It is on Highway 80, on west side of the Echnochee (I'm not sure how to spell that correctly) Creek. Grandpa Burnett was born April 7, 1803, and died February 5, 1887. I hope that is enough for now. I will gladly share more later, but right now I am in the middle of preparing to honor another ancestor who lived in that area. Our family lives in Valkaria, Florida (that's 60 miles south of Cape Canaveral) and we are planning a trip to Bibb County (next to Crawford County) in May when we dedicate a government marker and Sons of Confederate Veterans Iron Cross at the grave of C. M. Newberry in Lizella, Georgia. So, I don't have time to share much, but I am willing. Please keep in touch and get back to me sometime in July. May the goodness of God, and the Sonshine of His love be a bright light in your live and the lives of those you love. Later, Jackie Marshall Marshall

    3. Dear Eve--My husband is also a descendant of Samuel Branch BURNETT. We were given records which show he was born in 1803 in Dinwiddie County, Virginia to Benjamin Gabriel BURNETT and Elizabeth JORDAN. We are hoping to find some good documentation on this information, but Dinwiddie is a burned county and the closest person we can find is a Gabriel BURNETT there in the tax records about the time of his birth. We don't actually know that this Gabriel is the same person as Benjamin Gabriel, but believe it might be so. We haven't been able yet to trace the movements of this family and have wanted very much to know where they went from VA to eventually arrive in Crawford Co. GA. We hope you will share with us any information you might be able to collect in your research. We wish you the best of luck in this search. 2. Hi Eve, In "Wills of Crawford Co., GA," by Sunnie Wilder and Wm. R. Henry, I found the following Will abstract which mentions Samuel B. Burnett: Absela/Apselia Morris: 8 May 1846; 3 Aug 1868, Book A, p.77 She directed her body be interred in the family burial ground on the lot on which she lived. Her daughter Patience Burnett to have and receive Abram, a negro man, Amy a woman, 100 acres of land in Lot 7, 3rd Dist., originally Houston, now Crawford Co., lying between the 50 acres of said lot owned by Arthur F. Walker and 50 acres on south side of same lot upon which her buildings now stand and which are not to be conveyed with the 100 acres. Daughter Patience to also receive one bed, bedsted & furniture and the loom. She gasve unto Michael W. Rabun a negro named Ned, one bed, bedstead and furniture. She directed that Charlott a negro be sold and proceeds equally divided among the children of William W. Rabun deceased to wit: Rebecca Martha, Miram, Abbie Charlott and George P. To granddaughter Martha Stembridge and heirs of her body, her little negro child the daughter of Charlott Narcissa, and to her granddaughter Mary Hancock and heirs of her body, the negro child Eliza and to Nancy Ogburn $20 in cash. To Benjamin G. Burnett one bed and furniture. All of her estate both real and personal not given and bequested to be sold at public sale and proceeds divided euqlly among her grandchildren, those Samuel B. Burnett begotten upon the body of her daughter Patience Burniett and those William W. Raburn deceased except Michael W. Raburn who has been provided for and the children of George Brimberry deceased. Exr: Green T. Culverhouse and Samuel B. Burnett. Wit: John Culverhouse, George A.
