    2. Hi, In my desperation I am posting my "lost" Pennington again. I have lots of information once the line ties into the Nixon line of Coweta Co., GA, but I have a hard time finding anything previous since Silas died at such a young age in the Civil War. I am currently attempting to search every Pennington family in the GA 1850 census records to try to locate Silas with his parents, but have struck out in the counties I have searched so far. . . Descendants of Silas M. Pennington Generation No. 1 1. Silas M. Pennington was born 1841 in Georgia (1), and died 23 Mar 1864 in Civil War, Rock Island POW Camp, Rock Island, Illinois. He married Frances Emily Stewart 18 Jul 1858 in Coweta Co., Georgia. Notes 1860 Census -- Coweta Co., GA; Haralson P.O. The Several Districts 5 July 1860; pg 745, #576-506 Ida born 4 July 1860 -- census states include only individuals living in abode on 1st June 1860 Member of C.S.A., Company G, 53d Regiment; Georgia Volunteer Infantry, Army of Northern Virginia. Private 30 April 1862. Wounded at Knoxville, TN 29 Nov 1863. Died at Rock Island, IL 1864. Children of Silas Pennington and Frances Stewart are: 2 i. Fannie Pennington, born 1859 in Coweta Co., Georgia (2). + 3 ii. Ida Elizabeth Pennington, born 4 Jul 1860 in Georgia; died 20 Jun 1944 in Haralson, Coweta, Georgia. Generation No. 2 3. Ida Elizabeth Pennington (2) (Silas M.1) was born 4 Jul 1860 in Georgia (3), and died 20 Jun 1944 in Haralson, Coweta, Georgia. She married Charles Bartow Nixon ca 1876-1877 (4), son of Harrison Nixon and Elvira Elmore. Notes 1860 Census - Coweta Co., GA Ida born 4th July 1860 -- census states include only individuals living in abode on 1st June 1860 so therefore Ida not included?? 1870 Census - Coweta Co., GA, Senoia P.O. 1 July 1870, pg 245 #234-225, line #27 living w/step-father, William M. Odum & mother Francis E. (Stewart) (Pennington) Odum age 11, at home, unable to read or write Feb. 1941 -- Ida "of Haralson, GA" per obituary for son, O.F.
