    3. According to my sources Coweta was an Indian tribe. In 1773 name was spelled Caouita, in 1818 it was spelled Cowetau and in 1825 maps showed it being spelled Cowetaw. They were known as the 2nd great Muskogee tribe of the Lower Creeks. This info came from "Coweta Chronicles" by Jones and Reynolds, of which I wish I had a copy. My family is from Senoia, in Coweta County, and Senoia was either an Indian Chief, a medicine man, who is buried at "the little one-room Methodist church" in Senoia. Never knew any of this.
