    1. [GACOWETA-L] MCPHERSON Obit
    2. Belinda & Dave Savadge
    3. Hi Listers, This obit. is the one for my own Uncle that I just now found in Monday's newspaper. The sad part is, is that none of my sisters nor I was informed of this death. One of my sisters only lived about 7 miles from him and I lived about 11 miles from him. His funeral was held Monday and I did not see his obit. until early this morning. It is very sad that we did not get to attend his funeral. Our own father (this is his brother that died) did not even inform us of his death. My father only lives about 10 miles from me. My father did attend the funeral. So here is his obit. that was in the paper and at the end of the obit. I will add what information I have. Quill MCPHERSON, 68 Of Hoschton died Saturday, Graveside service, 4 p.m. today, Warsaw Cemetery, Duluth; Flanigan Funeral Home. Here is the added information for anyone researching this family: Quill McPHERSON born June 21, 1931 (not sure where in GA.) Married Jo-Ann CHAPMAN ? Children: Wayne Charlotte Janice Sherry - twin to Terry Terry - (male) twin to Sherry Dean Tracy Jo-Ann died about 10 years ago. All the children live in GA. I don't know who any of the girls married. Uncle Quill was a twin also. He had a twin brother Will that died as an infant and is buried in Warsaw Cemetery. Quill's parents were William Aze McPHERSON, Sr. and Daisy May CLARK. Daisy died sometime around 1935 and is buried in Warsaw Cemetery. William Aze died sometime around 1960 in Sand Mountain, AL. He is buried there. After Daisy died, William Aze loaded up his children (the 4 boys) and deposited them at different family members homes. He then left town. He later went to Sand Mountain, AL. William Aze McPHERSON was born 1888 in GA. He was first married to Minnie Ellen TOLBERT. William and Minnie had 4 girls: Azzie married a HARRISON Mertle married James CAMPBELL Clara May married a BATES Edna born 1915 married Marvin ROZAR William Aze and Minnie divorced (actually I think he deserted the family). William and Daisy May CLARK had 5 sons: James William born 1927 in Forsyth County, GA Clyde Edward born January 5, 1929 in Forsyth County, GA died 1996 in Tucson, AZ Quill born June 21, 1931 died April 10, 1999 Will born June 21, 1931 died 1931 William Aze "Bill" born 1934 James William married 1st. Eleanor DUNN, 2nd. Betty Jean LEWIS (in Metter, GA) 3rd. Barbara Ann BAILEY (in Atlanta, GA), 4th. Dorothy ? (this is my father - my step father actually - he adopted me when I was 6 and had my name legally changed) Clyde Edward "Eddie " married Emily CHAPMAN (sister to Jo-Ann CHAPMAN). Quill married Jo-Ann CHAPMAN (sister to Emily) William Aze "Bill" married 1st. Dorothy ?, 2nd. Elizabeth "Liz" ? I hope this information help someone who is researching this family. Well I am on my way to Duluth to visit Uncle Quill and at least pay my respects and leave him some flowers. Best Regards, Belinda savadge@alltel.net

    1. [GACOWETA-L] CAMPBELL Obit and Story
    2. Belinda & Dave Savadge
    3. Bob and Jane CAMPBELL Genealogy Surfer and Scout Leader When Bob and Jane Campbell's Dekalb County residence burst into flames Thursday morning, the blaze took both residents' lives and destroyed the house, except for Mr. Campbell's office. That room, which housed the family Bible and the genealogical history that had been Mr. Campbell's passion, was untouched, said the couple's daughter, Eloise Ragsdale of Decatur. "He had everything in there, all our reports cards from grade school, everything, " she said. This is just one of those strange things, as strange as it taking both of them together." The joint funeral for Robert C. Campbell Sr., 74, and Jane H. Campbell, 72, both of Atlanta, is 2 p.m. today (Monday, April 12, 1999) at H.M> Patterson & Sons, Spring Hill. Despite the assistance of neighbors, Mr. Campbell, a retired embalmer and funeral director with H.M> Patterson Y Son, died on the lawn of this residence, collapsing while trying to get help for his wife. Mrs. Campbell, a mental health nurse retired from DeKalb Medical Center, suffered from a degenerative bone disorder that made movement difficult, said her daughter. She died in her bedroom. Chattanooga natives, the Campbells met while attending neighboring single-sex high schools. they married in 1846 and moved to Atlanta when Mrs. Campbell was accepted at the Emory University School of Nursing. Mrs. Campbell served as camp director of a Girl Scout camp at what is now Fernbank Science Center and at Camp Timber Ridge in Mableton, said her daughter. In 1965, she was awarded the Thanks Medal for her service to the Girl Scouts. Mr. Campbell retired in 1988 and spent his time caring for his wife and researching genealogy on the Web. He was working on a family history and had traced his ancestors back to Paris in 1753. "He kept up with a small circle of friends, but looking after Mom sort of limited his social outings," said Mrs. Ragsdale. "So he bought himself a computer and practically lived on it. It'll take us the next five years to go through his history." The couple had both served as presidents of the Oak Grove and Heritage schools PTAs and were communicants at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church. Survivors other than their daughter include another daughter, Becky Beagle of Avondale Estates; a son, Bert Campbell of Cumming; and three grandchildren. Mr. Campbell is survived by a sister, Martha Spencer of Emporia, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, the family requested that contributions be made to Nicholas House at St. Bartholomew's, 1790 LaVista Road N.E., Atlanta, GA. 30329. Had two children born in Alabama by the names of James White Bowen born December 7, 1846, and Lucinda Bowen born April 30, 1848. I have no information on his wife. I believe that she may have died, because in June of 1853 he later marries A Mary Lee Hayes from Early County, Georgia. If anyone has any information it will greatly be appreciated. Thank you, Cory Bowen.

    3. Hi - I am searching for John C. Bagett born about 1872 in Alabama (probably Randolph County, Alabama) and his sister Elizabeth Bagett born about 1866 in Alabama (probably Randolph County, Alabama). I not sure who their father was, but their mother was Sarah A. Shelnutt Bagett. They are listed on the 1880 Randolph County, Alabama census. Their mother Sarah committed suicide by hanging herself from a tree on 8 Dec 1895. Is anyone researching this family? Thanks, Belinda

    3. I am posting this to warn others about problems with ; Census Microfilm Expeditors 476 E. South Temple , Suite 4 Salt Lake City , UT 84111 website ; www.censusmicrofilm.com e-mail ; gme@nwinfo.net and ; sj@censusmicrofilm.com I was lured to order several microfilm copies from this company with "guarantees" of "speedy delivery" and "low price" . My order was placed in October of 1998 and as of this posting I have not received the order or a refund after numerous contacts with Steven Jensen at this firm . In his occasional replies he repeatedly gave false information to me as to the status of the order and cashed the check when mentioned stopping payment on it .I have copies of all documents and correspondences for those interested . Complaints have been filed with the Better Business Bureau and the United States Postal Inspectors , they have informed me that even they can't order this company to give a refund , but may seek criminal charges . I guess small claims court is next . If you are seeking genealogy resources......consider my experiences with this "Firm". Thank you , Kenneth Sartin researching ; Sartin , Sartain , Sarton , Sarten , Sardin etc. etc.

    3. If you live close to a branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints (Mormans) Library they have filmed county records. These can be ordered to view on microfilm. Redbook says Cowetta Co. land records begin in 1827 so would assume this covers Warranty Deeds and Mortgages, which began same time as Deeds.
