Hi Walt I thought I might have a copy of at least one of your Pollards when I copied census pages for my Chamblins but unfortunately I see I don't. However, I have picked up on Ancestry.com, a Levi A Pollard d 5 May 1930 Richmond Co, Ga Certificate 13792 This I PRESUME is Levi A Pollard Senior. I also picked up for SocSec... Levi Pollard b 18 July 1894 d Oct 1973 residence Appling, GA. Again, I PRESUME this to be Levi A Junior. In June of 1940 Levi A Pollard Jr purchased land from my grandmother, Eliz Stephenson Anderson and her brother, John James Stephenson and her sister Alice Stephenson. This was land which was inherited by their Mother, Ida Chamblin Stephenson from Eliz Eve Lamkin Eve and passed down to the children. I am even going to let you see the land LA Pollard Jr purchased (smile) http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ga/columbia/oakhill.jpg On the copies of property records which I obtained 5-6 yrs ago when I visited Columbia Co, it shows that the land passed from LA Pollard Jr to Robert W Pollard Sr...and another record shows Robt Pollard Jr. The Pollards were acquiring much of the land in the area of Kegs Creek and later the Dam (or the northern section of the county) for their lumber business. I did stop to speak to Robt Pollard Jr at the business but it was lunch time and I missed him but intended to show him the picture I have recently put in the US Gen web archives above. Also, the intersection of Washington Rd (leading down to Augusta, GA) and Scott's Ferry Rd is called "Pollard's Corner"...as I recall the Pollard's had a home on the NE corner of this intersection. Hope this little bit helps bye Stephanie Walter Boswell wrote: > > ATTN.: Calling all good Samaritans on the Columbia County, GA List wherever > you may be! > > I am looking for anyone who has access to any one, or all, of the following > Columbia County censuses: 1830, 1840, 1850, and/or 1860.
