We (think they were married abt 1794) Thank > you cdp This is probably not the Phoebe Brown who you are looking for, but it is one in the appropriate time period and location. Will of Phoebe Brown, widow of Frederick Brown, signed 25 July 1839 proved 20 Sept 1839 implies that Frederick Brown m2. Phoebe (maybe Saxon) possibly in Warren Co., GA. Sisters of Phoebe: Nancy Saxon, Sarah Swain who had children, Temperance Saxon m. Elias Wilson 7 July 1823 in Warren Co., GA--Wilson children: Amanda, John, Aletha. Exr. not named, Wit: Edmond Bacon, Seaborn Ivey, Rowell Adams, Elisha Burson. [Century of Columbia Co., GA, wills 1790-1890.] Just on the chance that this may be the same Brown family, do you have any WILLINGHAM family information in your data? The following is the will of Frederick Brown, husband of Phoebe, above. Frederick married before Phoebe to widow Peace Wright Willingham, daughter of Dionysious Wright of St. Pauls Parish (area now Columbia Co.) before and during the Revolutinary War [will, land records, Rev. War documents], and the widow of Abner Willingham who was in 1777 in Henry Co., VA [Oath of Allegiance]. Will of Frederick Brown signed 1 Aug 1828, proved 17 Nov 1836. [ p. 13 & 14 of Century of Columbia Co., GA, wills 1790-1890.] Wife: Phoebe (Peace had evidently died by date of signing, 1 Aug 1828)-1/3 of...{estate}...The land to be divided: 1/3 to wife; 1/3 to children of daughter Elizabeth Butt (Elizabeth Brown m. Moses Butt, Warren Co. 30 Dec. 1806) [Had Elizabeth died, nothing left to her personally?], 1/3 to children of daughter Concord White (Concord Brown m. William White in Columbia Co., GA 7 Sept 1813) [Daughter Concord White was left tables and silver. Nothing to daughter Elizabeth.Son-in-law: William White-riding horse, and saddle.] Since this is the total of the land, I believe that these two daughters were the only children of Frederick Brown. The daughters and step-daughters marriages implies that Frederick Brown was in Columbia Co. in 1799-Jan 1806, in Warren Co. in Dec. 1806, and in Columbia Co. in 1813, so one should search further in Warren Co. for the death of Peace or the marriage of Frederick to Phoebe. Grandsons: Frederick A. Butt; William B. Butt; William T. White. Granddaughters: Eliza Butt; Mary A. Butt; Sarah Anne White; Elizabeth White. HERE ARE THE CHILDREN OF ABNER WILLINGHAM AND PEACE WRIGHT [Richmond Co., GA guardian records] EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE REFERRED TO IN FREDERICK BROWN’S WILL AS DAUGHTERS- NOTE THAT THEY ARE LISTED SEPARATELY AND HE LEFT THEM NO LAND AND THEY ARE REFERRED TO AS WILLINGHAM IN THE MARRIAGE RECORDS. To daughters: Angela Butts, wife of Noah $25.00 (Angeles Willingham m. 28 March 1799 Noah Butts in Columbia Co., GA; MOT newspaper 4 Jan 1813: Mrs. Butts, wife of Noah Butts of Jones Co., delivered a few days ago “of three living children”;therefore, in Jones Co. in 1820: Noah Butts p. 439 1830 Jones Co., GA census and p. 125 on 1840 Jones Co., GA census. Marriages and Obituaries from Georgia Newspapers: Jones County, Oct. 6, 1835: Mrs. Angela Butt died. Wife of Noah Butt, she was 57. Noah Butts d. 29 Nov 1842 in Jones Co., GA at age 66 ]) Peace Butts, wife of Jeremiah, $25.00 (P. Willingham m. 16 Jan 1806 to Jeremiah Butt in Columbia Co., GA) Jeremiah Butt on p. 192 1830 Warren Co., GA census. Jeremiah is not on the 1840 GA census index. Warrenton Cemetery located on Norwood St., Warrenton, Ga. Graves of Jeremiah Butt, age 77, died July 26, 1840, and Peace Willingham Butt, age 58 years, died Mar. 13, 1840] CODICIL- 30 Mar 1836: Angela Butt having died, her share to go to grandson, Frederick Butt..[Angela d. 6 Oct 1835] Exr: William White, Wit: George Dorsey, Adam Scott, Edward Dorsey, Wit to Codicil, Samuel Holliman, Seaborn Ivey, Elisha Burson. [Marriages are from Georgia marriage records.]
