At some time after, they moved westward to Putnam Co, Ga to farm and raise a family. William died 1829 and his Will is recorded in the Putnam County will books. The soil was becoming depleted in Columbia. Many new citizens of Ga, and some old ones, were seeking lands more fertile, cheaper, or just available.
