    3. Are you sure that wasn't South Carolina? The area below Columbia, SC, where the two rivers came together was called Dutch Fork because of all the Germans and Swiss/Germans who settled there in the early 1700s. It is pretty close to Richmond and Columbia Counties in north GA. Some of my own people there, who were Swiss, later moved down to the Great Ogeechee, near the old Salzburger settlement of Ebenezer (above Savannah). Both areas have good records.
