Delphia Ann Meeks was born circa 1862, in Appling County, Georgia. Her tombstone says she was born in 1859, but census reports indicate 1862. She was listed with her mother in Appling County during the 1870 and 1880 censuses. She married John W. Lassiter Jan. 29, 1882, in Coffee County, Georgia. Their children: Mariah, Lucie, Oscar and Rebecca. John died before the 1900 census, when Delphia was farming, three houses away from her brother-in-law, James M. Taylor, in Appling County. She died Oct. 21, 1934. Delphia and John are buried in Camp Ground United Methodist Church Cemetery, northwest of Alma, Georgia. Corrections and additions would be appreciationed. Clyde
