Has anyone done much research on the Hall family? I've also seen references to LouPine or Lupina Hall as "Effie Jane". Some even say she was Native American. Consider: I've got a copy of Dr. A V Tuten's 1982 compilation of "The History of the Lewis Hall Family Tree". Though he traces the Hall ancestry back to the 1730 will of Isaac Hall in VA (father of Lewis Hall, Sr.), he mostly only documents the Appling County lines, who were descendents of brothers, Lewis Hall, Jr., and Instance Hall. But there were two other brothers: Enoch, and Thomas. All four brothers were Revolutionary Soldiers and showed up in Montgomery Co. ca 1797. Enoch married Nancy Jackson (a cousin of President Andrew Jackson) and either moved to or his land was cut into Tattnall (where the Lankfords were). Enoch had one daughter named Effie and another named Jane. But Dr. Tuten didn't go into any of the lines of this family, and neither does the ancestral file at familysearch.org. (they probably both used the same source for info). But it sounds like too much of a coincidence not to look into it. Anybody know anything about the descendents of Enoch Hall, RS, and Nancy Jackson? I cannot verify the accuracy of all thei info listed below but this is what I have: Enoch Hall was b 1754 in Bladen Co., N.C. and died in Tattnall Co., GA. He married Nancy Ann Jackson and she died in Lowndes Co, GA. She was 104 when she died. She is buried in the Hall family graveyard on the old Hall Plantation near Morven (her grave is marked). They were located on the new Coffee Road 2 miles northeast of the present town of Morven. She was blind 14 years prior to her death. Their children were: (1)Jane Hall b 1778; (2)Susannah Hall b 1780 and married Henry Cook and they had a SON named Henry Cook Jr. who married Piety Hall b Jan 9, 1903, daughter of Lewis Hall b 1753 and Nancy Colly. (so Henry was her 1st cousin once removed and her husband? because Henry Cook Sr b 1752 married Susannah Hall, dau of Enoch and Nancy Ann Jackson.) Their children were Instance Cook , John Cook and Jehu Cook. Instance Cook born 1824 married Margaret "Marjorie" Wilcox in 1849 in Telfair Co., GA. John Cook married Henrietta Mann and Jehu was born 1844 and that's all I know about him. (3)Priscilla Hall b 1782 who married Noah Griffin b Edgecombe N.C. died Lowndes Co., Ga. (4) Sion Hall b1784 and died Nov 14 1849 in Brooks Co., GA and married Bridgett "Beady"Hall (his first cousin)daughter of Lewis Hall Jr and first wife Flora Beaty. They had 3 children, Enoch Hall, Sooky Ann, and Nancy Hall. Nancy b 1806 married John Pike and is buried in Hall Cemetery, Brooks Co. Ga. Sion and Bridgett seperated abt 1816 and divorced and he married Elizabeth Coker. I don't know if they had children. Then he married Pollie Morrison and had Nancy Ann Hall b 1840 who married Matt J. Bowen. (5)John Hall b 1785 and died 1854 in Marion Co., Fl who married Rhoda Griffin. He grew up in Tattnall, Montgomery and Telfair Counties, Ga. He moved to Lowndes abt same time as his widowed mother and others of family to Morven, later part of Brooks Co. Abt 1845 moved to Irwin later cut into Berrien. He moved back to Lowndes and then to Marion Co., Fl where his son William G. Hall already had moved. (6)Nancy Hall b abt 1790 married Thomas Griffin. Thomas Griffin's brother Noah Griffin b 1783 married Priscilla Hall b 1782 and daughter of Enoch and Nancy Ann Jackson. (7) Effie Hall b 1795 died 1796 (8)Abijah Hall b 1798 died 1855 and married Lorena Hall, daughter of Jacob Hall and Mary Hall. Abijah and Lorena were married Aug 17, 1828 in Irwin County, Ga. The other brother of Enoch was Thomas Hall and the only thing I know about him was that he died in the war of 1812. (Lewis born 1753 and son Enoch born 1780, son of Flora Beaty and Lewis Jr] were appointed administrators of estate of Thomas Hall deceased in Tattnall Co......War of 1812. This took me a long time to type because it is so CONFUSING! Too many cousins marrying cousins! If anyone has any corrections to this PLEASE e-mail me.
