The Douglas Enterprise ... December 21st, 1907 A Sad Accident and Death Monday afternoon as the D. A. & G. train was coming in from the river, beyond Broxton, the tender pulled loose from the engine and Herbert Moore, who was firing, fell between the two, and the tender and a box car ran over him. He died in a few minutes. Herbert was a good boy and had been with the road since it was built. He was at one time in charge of an engine, but at the time of his death, he was firing. He was a son of Mrs. R. A. Moore. We extend to the family our sympathy and lament the losing of a good boy, whose future was bright, and who would have made a good citizen.
