    3. Clyde, Here is some information on J. N. Hooks. The credit goes to one of our volunteers who so graciously looked up the information. Take care, melody Jonathan Neal Hooks, 67, died in Goldman's Hospital in Hazlehurst on March 11, 1949 after suffering a heart attack. The Rev. M.W.Thomas, pastor of the Lumber City Baptist Church, conducted the services and burial was in the church yard with Harris & Smith Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Hooks was born in Emanuel County January 9, 1882, the son of the late William Rainey and Alice Smith Hooks. He was married twice, his fist wife having been the former, Miss Naomi Fields and his second wife Miss Katie Lee Rainey. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife: the following children: Mrs. Coleman Johnson, and Mrs. Mae McCrackin, of Broxton; Henry Hooks, of Eastman; Belvon Hooks, and MarionHooks of Myakka City, Fla.; Bailey Hooks, of Toomsboro; Charles Hooks, Miss Mary PearlHooks, Myles Hooks, and Miss Dorothy Sue Hooks, all of Lumber City, a sister Mrs. Maggie Kirkland, of Swainsboro, and a brother, Jesse Hooks of Myakka City, Fla.
