Married, on Sunday, the 12th inst., at 11 o'clock a.m. in Pickren, Ga., Mr. James M. Denton to Mrs. Elizabeth Peterson, Judge F. Willis Dart of Douglas officiating. Mrs. Peterson is the widow of the late Mr. Dan Peterson of Pickren and daughter of Mr. John M. Lott, Sr., of Douglas. Mr. Denton is one of the foremost citizens of the county, a politician of note and Solicitor of the City Court of Douglas. Mr. and Mrs. Denton are off on a bridal tour this week. They will visit Atlanta and Indian Springs and reach Douglas today. Also, same book, pg. 10 November 26, 1898 Wedding at Pickren Mr. William A. McRae and Mrs. Mary J. Gaskin were united in the holy bonds of matrimony at Pickren on Sunday last. Mr. McRae is the senior member of the mercantile firm of W. A. & T. K. McRae. He is a sterling young business man and numbers his friends by the hundreds. The bride is the beautiful young daughter of the late Dan Peterson.
