Mel, He was the Marshall that the Cribb guy killed that day he went on the rampage. All I know is he was Thomas Holton, and was a Marshall. Not a lot to go on I know. I have two different Thomas Holtons, both of them were born in 1866, so either could have been him. Thats why I needed to know if there were an obit a few days after the murders. I figured since the murder rampage was written about, and the hearing, that surely there would have been some obits. Thanks for what ever you can come up with.
