Diana and others, I've spoken with several 'direct' descendants of James Cuyler Kirkland and his middle name is spelled Cuyler (not Kiler), according to these folks. The best I can remember, there is a family Bible in one of the families and it is spelled Cuyler in this Bible. This James Cuyler Kirkland was brother to my gr grandmother Pearlie Kirkland and they were children of Joshua. This is a different man from Kiler (Cuyler) Kirkland who married his cousin Alice Kirkland. However, these same folks tell me his name was spelled Cuyler as the man above's name was spelled.
