Nancy, Although I'm not a Kirkland researcher, I've been keeping up with the recent emails because this was such an interesting story. I do have a question for you though. I have ancestors from the Horry County area, specifically a ggggrandfather, Joseph B. (Johnnie) Graham who owned a plantation in an area that used to be called "Cool Springs". I haven't had an opportunity to visit the area but just wondered if your Kirkland House was in the Horry County SC area??
